FEI is presenting sessions at Campus Safety Magazine’s 2018 Campus Safety Conferences
and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA)
Annual Conference.

FEI will present at the Pre-Conference Executive Forum “Handling Protests, Controversial Speakers and First Amendment Rights in a University Setting” for all three 2018 Campus Safety Conferences:

  • Campus Safety Texas (running June 24-26, in Irving, Texas) on June 24 at 2:00 p.m. CST.
  • Campus Safety East (running July 18-20, in Herndon, Va.) on July 18 at 2:00 p.m. EST.
  • Campus Safety West (running July 30 – August 1, in Pasadena, Calif.) on July 30 at 2:00 p.m. PST.

For each forum, FEI Senior Director of Crisis Management Services Vivian Marinelli will present the opening session “A Year of Protest: Ideological Divides and America’s College Campuses.” This session examines how universities can prepare for protests during large events on campus. Marinelli will discuss key features of crisis preparation including conducting risk assessments, developing and evaluating emergency response plans, training response teams through drills and tabletop exercises, and creating robust communication strategies.

The IACLEA Annual Conference runs June 29 – July 2, in Orlando, Fla. FEI Senior Account Manager Randy Kratz will present the session “Opiate Addiction and Impact on Your Campus” on July 2 at 10:30 a.m. EST.

The presentation will discuss the ever-increasing issue of opiate and heroin abuse in workplaces and communities, understanding that drug use affects not just students, but also those responsible for their education. Participants will gain an understanding of the rise in opiate addiction and how to reduce the impact on their campus workforce.

In addition to presenting, FEI also will be exhibiting at the IACLEA conference.

Kratz, MS, LCSW, LPC, is a senior account manager and consultant for FEI. He is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed professional counselor in the State of Wisconsin and has worked as both a counselor and a supervisor in outpatient and hospital settings for over 15 years.
